Often, there are government organizations that provide resources and information on specific disabilities. Other resources may include local community groups where individuals can find support from others who are facing similar issues. Counsel with priesthood and auxiliary leaders concerning specific needs and available resources.

The Internet can also provide helpful resources. All kinds of information exist online. When searching for resources on the Internet, be careful to ensure that the information is coming from a credible source. Consider the following criteria when identifying helpful online resources:

  1. Identify the purpose of the site. Personal Web sites or Web sites that sell a product may contain biased information.
  2. Identify the author of the site.
  3. Determine if the information is up-to-date and reliable.
  4. Be wary of sites that promote behaviors and activities that are not in harmony with gospel principles.
